A Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) supports the power grid by providing frequency regulation services on the RTE reserve markets. It also enhances renewable energy integration by providing system flexibility\u2014storing surplus power during production peaks and discharging it during consumption peaks. The group is already active in wind and solar energy, as well as electric mobility.<\/p>\n<p>This project marks Envision Energy\u2019s first independent battery energy storage contract in France, following recent successes in Europe. As the key component of this BESS project, the LFP battery cells will be supplied by AESC &#8211; a leading battery technology company headquartered in Japan. AESC has a state-of-the-art 10 GWh Gigafactory, located in Douai in the Hauts-de-France region in production since June 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The Saleux battery storage project has been developed and is funded by Kallista Energy. Construction will start in June 2025 and be completed by the end of 2026. Envision Energy will ensure the maintenance of the site and will also be responsible for battery recycling at the end of their lifecycle.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWith the Saleux project, Kallista Energy adds another building block to the energy ecosystem needed to facilitate the integration of more renewable energy into the grid while ensuring its reliability. We must move beyond the misconception that electricity cannot be stored, in order to accelerate the deployment of renewables and the shift away from fossil fuels.
