Since the beginning of the year, Kallista Energy has completed the repowering of three additional wind farms, while five other repowering projects are currently under construction.
In the municipalities of La Gaillarde and Saint-Pierre-le-Viger (Normandy), Lislet and Montcornet (Hauts-de-France), and Janville-en-Beauce and Oinville-Saint-Liphard (Eure-et-Loire), more efficient wind turbines have replaced those that were installed nearly 20 years ago.
These new turbines generate the equivalent annual electricity consumption of several thousand additional households, while making optimal use of existing sites.
Most of the decommissioned turbines have either been reused for spare parts or sold on the second-hand market. Any turbines that could not be reused were recycled or recovered in accordance with regulatory requirements. The former foundations were completely removed and recovered, and the sites were restored to their original agricultural use.
Since 2017, Kallista Energy has repowered or obtained authorization for more than 150 MW of wind power capacity.
A heartfelt thank you to our teams, partners, and local authorities whose commitment makes these projects possible and helps us generate more renewable electricity for local communities.
